of Tuckahoe
Tuckahoe, a quaint village in southern Westchester County, is located approximately five miles south of White Plains. It is one of the two villages, along with Bronxville, that comprise the town of Eastchester. Its name originated with the Algonquin Indians, who used “tucka,” to mean bread and “oe” for the plant from which the bread was made.
Tuckahoe is situated 18 miles north of New York City. The Hutchinson River Parkway, the Bronx River Parkway and Route 22 (Post Road) are nearby. Via Metro-North, Harlem Line, from the Tuckahoe station, the commute to Grand Central Station is approximately 30 minutes.
